Myself and my partner had conflicting views on the subject of spaying...like many I always believed that spaying had many health benefits whilst my partner believes to spay is unnatural.

I've been very conflicted but have to admit that this article has actually cleared a lot of things up for me.

Brooke is exceptionally clean for being in season and generally very happy and content if not experiencing a little loss off energy which I believe is natural.

I am now of the mindset that maybe spaying is not for us.

Thank you for such a informative article.Nicolahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18190946852481852742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4046919163463864815.post-42282131091472908112011-11-30T22:30:41.327-08:002011-11-30T22:30:41.327-08:00i had a vizsla pointer mix and he was never neuter...i had a vizsla pointer mix and he was never neuteredAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4046919163463864815.post-25527927597668762452011-10-25T11:43:25.371-07:002011-10-25T11:43:25.371-07:00Excellent article. I remember being out on the beach when Remo was 6 months old and some dog walker was yelling at me to get my dog fixed. Geez, he was only 6 months old and I told her to mind her own business...it's a free world.Cindy Mommsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13179222888698660197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4046919163463864815.post-40837181443630668392010-04-07T23:28:50.678-07:002010-04-07T23:28:50.678-07:00I am a firm believer that a dog's natural stat...I am a firm believer that a dog's natural state (intact) is the most conducive to health and longevity (because it stands to reason that we've evolved to survive and Mother Nature wouldn't have produced something so faulty that long and healthy life depended upon human surgical intervention!). However in the ever popular world of spay and neuter we are being led to believe that certain body parts are superfluous and that their absence makes not one iota of difference to overall health. This study, www.gpmcf.org/respectovaries.html, for I think the very first time, highlights the fact that this is not right. It's really interesting! And the questions and comments towards the end, after the nuts and bolts of the study have been covered, ask very good questions.

Another excellent article that looks at the pros and cons of castration/spaying is Karyn Orzeszko's (fellow Vizslaphile from Australia with qualifications in this area) website "V-Source" which gives you everything you need to know:
http://users.lavalink.com.au/theos/Spay-neuter.htm

Juliet

PS I've never spayed or neutered any of my dogs...my last lab died, intact, at the ripe old age of 18!!Juliethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11865766162690473129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4046919163463864815.post-46133713864896012522010-04-07T16:24:35.862-07:002010-04-07T16:24:35.862-07:00Hello. E-mail me directly and let me know more and I should be able to put you in touch with some good breeders. Thanks for visiting and I hope you take the time to scam the 150 posts. The earlier ones had a lot of basic Vizsla facts and even some videos.
rodneymichaelson@yahoo.comRod Michaelsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10540474622415222332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4046919163463864815.post-67307436113820932182010-04-07T15:54:30.339-07:002010-04-07T15:54:30.339-07:00Hi!
